When the doorbell rang, we all ran into the living room to hide from Harry!

Mr. LaFleur answered the door. I could hear him say, “Come on in! The kids are in the kitchen. They’re having a noisy rehearsal!”

I was hiding behind the big TV. No one could see me, but after I got down on my knees, I could peek around the TV stand. I could see Harry and Song Lee in the kitchen.

“The kids were just here a minute ago,” Mr. LaFleur said.

Harry started taking out plastic flowerpots from his sack. “After I pass these snacks out, I’ll go look for them.”

“Unusual snacks,” Mr. LaFleur said.

“It’s Grandma’s recipe, but I helped. I love making Dirt Pudding.”

Song Lee laid her rolled-up mural and costumes in a pile on the floor. Then she walked into the living room. “Mary? Ida?” she called.

Harry walked into the living room too. “Doug? ZuZu? Sid?”

No one answered.

“They must be hiding,” Mr. LaFleur said. “Guess we’ll have to start looking for them.”

Harry looked under the coffee table. “Not here!”

Song Lee looked behind the curtains. “Not here!”

Harry leaned over the couch. “Howdy, howdy!” he said.

Sid and ZuZu slowly came out.

When Song Lee peeked around the TV, she spotted me.

“Doug!”

I came out slowly too.
